Product overview
Octagonal piles are produced in 16.5”, 20” and 24” sections. The P-16.5 is the predominant pile for most building applications. The P-20 and P-24 pile are more often used in marine and heavy civil applications.

Design & detailing notes
- The drawings show potential strand locations and spiral reinforcing. Actual strand counts are governed by final design prestressing demand.
- P20 and P24 sheets specify standard 3 in cover to the spiral, with a possible reduction to 2 in for non-marine applications where appropriate for reinforcing requirements.
- The P16.5 sheet specifies standard 2 in cover, increased to 3 in for marine applications.
- The pile section may have slight side draft to allow stripping. Consult GPRM for alternate prestressing and reinforcing options.
